Capital Region/North Country HIV/AIDS Regional Training Center resources:

Applying Research and Public Education to halt the Spread of HIV and AIDS

PDP collaborates with the Department of Health/AIDS Institute to manage one of several HIV/AIDS Regional Training Centers in New York State. As the Capital Region/North Country Regional Training Center, highly skilled staff provide free training for health, allied health and human service providers in an area that covers Albany, Columbia, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington counties. In special circumstances, participants from other areas of New York State and Vermont may also attend courses. All training is based on approved curricula designed and developed by the AIDS Institute. Courses are offered regionally within the catchment area and upon special request, can be offered on-site depending on class size.

The University at Albany School of Public Health and the AIDS Institute have entered into an agreement to provide CME/CEUs at no cost to participants in selected HIV courses, as noted below and indicated in course listings. As the AIDS Institute and PDP are also certified by New York State’s Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as Education and Training Providers, certain courses are also approved for credit toward initial credentialing and renewal of the CASAC, CPP and CPS credentials (see below). Please look for the following information associated with any course you’re considering.
