Casework Planning and Documentation Training
Mastering the Skills of Effective Documentation
We help child welfare workers statewide to understand the concepts and master the skills of completing the new Family Assessments and Service Plans as well as strengthen worker's knowledge and skills using the most recent Connections builds. These case planning and documentation tools are designed to promote effective casework practices in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Customized training for new and experienced staff
Our training programs and technical assistance sessions are customized to support your agency in their important work with families and in the accurate and thorough documentation of their efforts.
For new staff:
Basic Case Recording Training
- An introduction for newly hired caseworkers to the knowledge and skills needed for effective case documentation using Family Assessments and Service Plans in support of Connections
- 3-day training for new staff at various regional sites; followed by
- 1-day small group practice session
For experienced staff:
Technical Assistance
- a small group refresher course in case documentation/use of Family Assessments and Service Plans
- review and revise an actual case
- apply critical thinking and writing skills for effective case decision-making and documentation
