Adolescent Services Resource Network (ASRN)
Preparing Adolescents to Live Independently
The Albany Adolescent Services Resource Network program assists staff to prepare adolescents in foster care for independent living when they're discharged. PDP provides an array of education, training and technical assistance programs delivered on-site and at regional locations.
PDP—Working Together as Part of a Statewide Network
Staff assist agencies in the Office of Children and Family Services’ Regions III and IV, and are part of a larger Adolescent Services Resource Network, which includes programs at SUNY Stony Brook,
SUC Buffalo and the Hunter College School of Social Work.

- Introduction to Self-Sufficiency: NYS Independent Living Core Training
- The Independent Living Toolbox
Enhancing Staff's Knowledge and Skills
PDP's trainers provide life skills instruction for youth
in care, and consultation, training and resource assistance in other areas
such as:
- Money management
- Problem solving
- Employment and decision making
- Program evaluation
- Needs assessment
- Program design, development and implementation
Promoting Youth Leadership and Empowerment
The Albany ASRN provides opportunities for staff to practice and enhance their skills in promoting youth leadership and empowerment through youth and staff led workshops on IL topics at the Annual Youth Event and Speak Out and involvement with the Statewide Youth Leadership activities. ASRN staff plays a leadership role in these efforts, both within Regions III and IV, and statewide.
