About PDP Programs
Temporary Assistance and Transitional Supports Training and Technical Assistance Resource System

Serving as the primary provider of educational programs supporting NYS Welfare Reform

This statewide educational and technical assistance resource system provides the requisite staff knowledge, skills and attitudes in state and local agency public assistance, food stamp, transitional support and other social service functions. Based on needs assessments, PDP staff collaborate with subject matter experts to design and deliver competency-based education and training programs that new and experienced staff need to consistently and accurately deliver high quality program eligibility and appropriate transitional services.

An array of classroom based “institutes” are offered, along with a wide range of tailored, regional or local, on-site classes and technical assistance sessions, geared to the specific job functions and training needs of local staff.

PDP staff collaborate with OTDA staff in the Division of Employment and Transitional Supports to provide educational programming specific to their diverse policy and program initiatives.

Additional programs can be designed and developed on Fair Hearings, SSI , Food Stamps, Energy Programs (HEAP), TANF Services Plans, Drug and Alcohol Related Topics, On-site Case-by-Case Management, and others as requested.
