The Professional Development Program of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College seeks candidates for a full-time Project Staff Associate in the Public Service Workshops Program. The successful candidate will assist in the development of educational offerings for employees in Professional, Scientific and Technical titles in NYS government. The candidate will develop Microsoft Access database systems to manage program functions; conduct needs assessments to determine training needs; develop workshop content; network with educational providers (colleges and associations); evaluate program results; and assist with other duties as assigned to fulfill contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization with a preferred concentration in a field related to the occupational groups within the PS&T unit (health care, engineering, law/criminal justice, education, counseling, information technology, auditing/accounting).
- A minimum of five years experience in the management of continuing education/professional development programs.
- A minimum of three years experience in developing Microsoft Access databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel).
- Familiarity with the structure of NYS government and a specialty in at least two of the occupational groups (see #1 above).
- Understanding of working in a labor-management environment.
- Excellent writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous tasks and attend to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population.
- Applicants will be asked to provide a writing sample, such as a report.
- Ability to travel throughout NYS to conduct focus groups.
- Candidates selected for interview must bring a writing sample to the interview.
