Evaluation
PDP's Evaluation Unit conducts a full range of training evaluations using a variety of instruments and methods, including trainee surveys, competency-based pre- and posttests, standardized assessments of job skills, and focus groups. Each evaluation is tailored to the sponsor's specific needs and based on Donald Kirkpatrick's model of training evaluation.
The Kirkpatrick Model consists of four evaluation levels:
Level 1—Participant reaction to training
Level 2—The level of knowledge acquired as a result of training
Level 3—The effect of training on individual job performance
Level 4—The impact of training on organizational outcomes
Evaluations are conducted in the classroom, workplace, and distance learning settings.
In addition to standard training evaluations, PDP's Evaluation Unit also:
- Provides technical assistance to administrative and program staff in all areas of evaluation and research
- Assists sponsors with the development of evaluation and research instruments, including pre- and posttests, training evaluation forms, impact assessments, demographic surveys, and needs assessments
- Conducts applied research to identify training needs and enhance training activities
