Employment and Transitional Services
Special populations, such as long-term unemployed and underemployed adults and at-risk youth, face specific challenges in finding and maximizing employment opportunities. PDP develops and delivers focused training programs for service providers who work with these populations, equipping them with the tools and resources to attain positive outcomes.
PDP training and technical assistance helps provider staff develop skills to conduct employability assessments, facilitate goal setting and job placements, identify barriers and create strategies to remove or reduce these barriers. Providers are then positioned to better assist individuals to enter the labor market or retain and improve employment opportunities.PDP's training programs can also help provider staff more easily identify linkages to community and government resources, including child care assistance, medical services, and related programs, to facilitate transitions into the workforce.
At-Risk Youth Program
The at-risk youth population often experiences difficulty in securing and maintaining employment due in part to their lack of skills and self-confidence. PDP offers training and support that focuses on the interpersonal, workplace, and technological skills needed in today's job market, and how service providers can foster these skills in the youth with whom they work.
