Computer Application Training
One of the biggest challenges facing today's public agencies is minimizing the time it takes for workers to learn to effectively and efficiently use new computer systems. PDP works with systems designers and agency staff during development of a new system to create the most powerful training plans and materials possible—preparing staff to use the new system immediately.
Our training developers assess workers' computer knowledge and skills and develop the most appropriate training to accommodate their specific work roles. Typical training is provided as:
Facilitated, instructor-led training
Regional and onsite classroom training, led by experienced systems trainers using portable or fixed lab equipment which mimics the typical state network configuration at local sites.Distance learning “virtual classroom” courses
These instructor-led offerings allow trainees to participate without leaving their offices. Virtual classroom courses are instructor-led, and include both lecture and demonstration as well as hands-on activities and simulations that allow trainees to practice skills learned during the course.Train-the-trainer sessions
Creates an "expert user" in the workplace by preparing agency representatives with system information and training practice.-
Self-paced training
Available as web-based or computer-based training that incorporates hands-on computer system simulations. These asynchronous offerings are typically available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on an ongoing basis, allowing trainees to get training based on their own schedules. One-on-one training
For users requiring special accommodations, often linked to accessibility needs or other considerations.Training support sessions
Agenda-based training for small groups that may focus on specific aspects of existing courses or be driven by local procedures or processes.
